With the addition of my new Countertop Breville Smart Oven, I've been reevaluating my Bakeware. I prefer cooking smaller cheesecakes and didn't have the right size pan so I began researching the best Springform pan that is easy to find and affordable.
My criteria are that the pan needs to be the right size, must be made in a country with high-quality standards, and have the highest customer satisfaction ratings.
While researching the best springform pans, I read hundreds of buyer reviews and expert ratings in addition I have used bakeware and cookware from all these manufactures and have been happy with the product quality.
What size pan should I buy?
Since I mostly cook for two people I already have an arsenal of smaller pans that fit nicely in my shiny new toaster oven. My Zenker 8-inch Springform is great for making cheesecake for 4-6 people I went on a quest for either a 6 or 7-inch pan and a smaller individual-sized pan.
- For more than 6 servings, I would suggest an 8 or 10-inch pan
- For smaller households and 4-6 servings go with a 6 or 7-inch pan.
- Individual or mini sizes work for everyone.
Quick way to Cut parchment Paper to Fit Round Pan.
I had trouble finding precut parchment rounds not made in China so instead I just cut my own. The video below shows you how easy it is.
Regular parchment paper or sheets are easily found at the grocery store, Target or Cooking stores like Sur la Table. The Up & Up brand from Target is made in the USA and the "If You Care" brand is made in Finland, both are affordable and easy to find at your local Target.
Your recipe needs to not just taste good, but should also look beautiful.
What to look for in a Springform pan
Springform pans have two parts, a collar that opens and closes with the help of a latch and a round, flat base that fits in grooves on the circular collar. This allows you to remove a delicate cake, tart, or savory dish without having to flip it over.
A good Springform will have a tight seal and limit any leaks. It’s important to have the tight seal as many cheesecake recipes call for baking cheesecake in a water bath to keep it from cracking. However, even if you don’t use a water bath, butter from your recipes may leak out and make a mess in your oven so it’s a good idea to wrap the bottom half of the pan in aluminum foil to keep ingredients in and water out.
A good quality Springform pan will cook evenly and release your baked goods easily and have minimal leakage.

Do I need a Springform pan to make cheesecake?
If you're not concerned with the presentation then you can line a cake pan and serve straight from the cake pan.
Use a cake pan the same size as the called for Springform pan. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to make it easier to remove. Cheesecakes can be tricky so best to serve directly from the pan. If you want and try to remove the cheesecake from the cake pan, cut the parchment with handles that run up the sides.
