The perfectly pan fried salmon should have a nice crisp skin and a moist and tender flesh. Pan fried salmon is an easy no fuss technique that produces a tasty meal. The secret is to cook the salmon most of the way through with the skin side down in order to protect the delicate flesh from the high heat of the skillet.
A great no recipe type of meal, it's quick and so tasty! Cook this once and it'll become a year round go to recipe. Great pan fried or baked.
- 1/4 cup prepared honey mustard salad dressing
- 1 tablespoon. honey
- 1/2 teaspoon. dill
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 2 salmon fillets (6 oz. each)
IIn a small bowl mix the salad dressing, honey, dill , and melted butter and mix well.
Place the salmon filets in a shallow dish and coat both sides of the salmon with the honey mustard marinade.
Cover with plastic wrap and let set for bout 10 minutes.
Remove salmon and place skin down in a heavy preheated skillet or to bake; place on a parchment line baking sheet.
Pan Fry for about 5 minutes before turning, (you want a nice crispy skin) then cook an additional 2-3 minutes. Salmon is done when it flakes with a fork.
If you broil the salmon; cook 6 inches from heat for 5-6 minutes and them baste with the remaining marinade. Continue cooking for another 5-6 minutes or until salmon flakes when tested with a fork.
Serve over rice or with a nice spinach salad.
