Smoothie Ingredients

- Plain Yogurt
- Lowfat milk
Produce
Pick fresh fruit by shopping the local farmers market or buy organic when available. Select one or a combination of fruit. Frozen fruit can be substituted for fresh.
- Bananas
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Mango
- Other fruit combination of choice

- Crushed Ice (skip if using frozen fruit)
Equipment Needed
- Sharp knife to cut the fruit
- Immersion Blender or stand blender to mix the ingredients
- Hammer or small mallet to crush the ice
How to make a Yogurt Smoothie
Cut up the fruit and combine all ingredients in a large measuring cup and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
Using an immersion blender is faster and easier to clean up. I like having small chunks of the fruit in my smoothie. You can control the consistency by how long you blend.
Dairy free substitute for the yogurt and milk
If you are looking for a dairy-free option, mashed bananas are a great substitute for the yogurt and milk.
Make ahead tips
Wash, cut, and portion out fruit combinations and place in Ziploc freezer bags. Freeze for later use. If using frozen fruit you can skip adding crushed ice.
