3tablespoonsrolled oats
⅙teaspooncinnamon
2pinchessalt
1tablespoonbutter
Instructions
Heat oven to 350°F. In a small baking dish combine the all the filling ingredients. Toss to coat the apples. Set aside while you prepare the topping
In a small bowl mix together all the topping ingredients. Use a fork to mix until crumbly.
Sprinkle the crumbled oats topping over the apples.
Place the pie or baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes until the top is a golden brown and apples are soft.
Notes
The apples will cook down, so its okay to fill up the pie dish. However, don't overfill if you will be serving with ice cream. you don't want the ice cream melting and dripping over the sides of the dish.
For a creamier apple, place apples in a microwave safe dish and microwave for a minute or two before baking. Don't use a metal dish in the microwave.
You can add in berries or additional flavors such as raisins or currants which are a nice touch.
